Boys' Gymnastics Background and Information

2004: The Hawaii Academy boys' team has begun its 2004 season. Details TBA.

2003: The Hawaii Academy held its third season of boys' gymnastics, fielding teams at both its gyms, Hawaii Academy Iwilei Gym, and Hawaii Academy Aloha Gym. At the compulsory level, Hawaii Academy fields teams at levels 6 and 7. Higher optional levels t,el 5 through elite, trained weall. You may use the links on the navigation bar at left to view the descriptions, photos, and score of the 2003 meets.At the optional level, boys competed at levels 5 throughg elite. 2002: In the 2002 season, we had two boys gymnastic teams, Class 7 and Class 6, with a total of seventeen boys. Regular meets were held in January-March 2002, with the USAG State Championship in March 2002 and the regional championship (held in Hawaii this year) on April 4-6. The boys' teams finished off the state meet season with style, placing first in both of the USAG Hawaii State Championship Class 6 team and Class 7 team competitions, with first place all-around awards going to Symon Rowlands (level 6, ages 7-9), Matt Moniz (level 6, ages 12 and up), Nick Gaulidp (level 7, ages 8-9), and Kelsen Onigama (level 7, ages 6-7). Individual first-place awards were also awarded to Artur Winstone (floor and vault) and Nick Ekimoto (vault).

Many of the boys also participated in the regional meet, held in Honolulu, with the all-around award for level 7, ages 8-9 going to Nick Gaudlip, and second place going to Matt Moniz in level 6, ages 12 and up. Matt also won first place in floor and rings, and Kelsen Onigama took first in vault (level 7, ages 6-7).

2001: The Boys' Gymnastics Teams of the Hawaii Academy started their first season in 2001. They finished that season as the 2001 Second Place Team in the USAG Hawaii State Championship, Class 7, with state champions Ian Kosasa, Matthew Moniz, and Isanti Yogi.
